Dynamic Feedback Loops
Our team was tasked with designing a feedback system for a self-participatory class, where students only met with the instructor three times a quarter. Traditional feedback systems, like end-of-term evaluations, were ineffective in this setup. We needed to create a platform that allowed students to regularly provide feedback on course material, their learning experience, and any concerns or suggestions they wanted to share with the instructor all in real-time.

Through extensive data collection and multiple rounds of user testing, we iterated on our design to ensure it met the needs of both students and instructors. We developed several key tools to enhance the feedback process, including a chat widget for direct communication, a poll widget for quick responses, and a data visualization tool to help instructors track feedback trends. These features created an interactive and dynamic space for continuous feedback, ensuring that students’ voices were heard throughout the course.

As we refined the system, it not only met the specific needs of this self-participatory class but also caught the attention of other courses. Faculty from different departments began inquiring about the system and wanted to implement it in their own classes. The success of this project inspired us to envision it as a product that could replace traditional, formal SETs, offering a more engaging, responsive, and ongoing feedback experience for all types of courses.
